Maryland seniors 65+ qualify for the Senior Citizen Bill Discount (10-20% off total) but must apply through the Office of Home Energy Programs first. My dad in Silver Spring saved $44/month after OHEP mailed the approval to Pepco. Need SS award letter and MD ID. The portal has a senior express lane: https://www.utilityassistance.org/md/ – upload SS letter, discount code appears on next bill and back-dates two cycles. Works even if you’re current on payments.
