Winter Skin Hydration

Ingredients you'll want to use during the winter months!


It's that time of year, the air is dry, and the heat is on! Outside the cold wind blows at your face. All leaving you looking in the mirror thinking, "what is going on with my skin?"

It's Winter and we need to help our skin stay nourished. We have 5 suggestions that will have you smiling in the mirror again.

Look for ingredients that prevent water loss, for example Shea Butter. It is a plant lipid extracted from karite tree. Use sparingly on the face if you are prone to acne or clogged pores.

Another helpful hint to look for ingredients that provide a protective barrier on the skin. Hyaluronic Acid is found naturally in the skin and helps keep it hydrated, it can also hold water into the skin surface.

Balancing the Ph level of your skin will assist with minimizing the look of pores removing residuals and preparing the skin to receive serums and moisturizers. Our favorite is from AKTIV Skincare: Rose + Aloe pH balancing spray.

Use exfoliators to remove dry dead skin. For this we like AKTIV's Papaya + Pineapple Enzyme Mask. It is gentle enough for all skin types, the added benefits of pineapple not only slough away dead skin, but it also reduces the appearance of blackheads.
